The two sides of sanctions: Greece-Russia maritime trade continues without slowing down

After the UK announced sanctions against companies and individuals doing trade with Russia, the US also requested information from the companies on the list

The UK announced that it would impose sanctions on companies from Switzerland, the UAE and Türkiye, but did not include any Greek companies on the list. Beks Denizcilik and Active Denizcilik from Türkiye were included in the list without any notification.

In November 2023, the US sent a notice to Greek companies operating in Russian waters, after which it was announced that Greek ships had withdrawn from Russian seas.
