For two vessels, UK-based P&O Ferries and Wärtsilä have signed a five-year Lifecycle Agreement that includes the supply of data-driven predictive maintenance services
The M/V Pioneer and the M/V Liberté, which both have hybrid propulsion with battery power for lower emissions, are covered by the agreement for parts and maintenance.
The deployment of Wärtsilä’s Expert Insight predictive maintenance solution will enable the identification of maintenance issues prior to their potential to cause schedule delays. These delays often result in ships increasing their speed to make up lost time, which raises fuel costs and emissions.
