Wallem Group has entered into a partnership with Chinese automaker BYD to provide commercial management services for BYD’s inaugural fully chartered PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier) vessel, MV BYD Explorer No.1. The vessel, which has recently completed its first loading operations, is currently on its maiden voyage to Europe.
Under this partnership, Wallem Group will offer comprehensive day-to-day support for vessel operations, including cargo stowage, route and bunker planning. They will also act as an intermediary between the vessel, its owner, and the charterer. Additionally, Wallem Group and BYD are considering further collaboration in maritime functions such as cargo bookings and vessel performance management.
The MV BYD Explorer No.1 is LNG powered and features environmentally friendly technology, significantly reducing emissions of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur oxides, aligning with current environmental concerns and regulations in maritime operations.
