Norwegian offshore service provider Island Offshore has secured a significant contract for its vessel, Island Condor, set to begin in Fall 2024 after extensive shipyard conversion.
The vessel, previously used in the UK and Norwegian projects, will undergo modifications in Norway to become an offshore construction7 platform. It will feature two ROVs, an offshore crane, helideck, and more.
The modifications that will take place at the Myklebust Yard in Norway. The project aims to enhance its capabilities for inspection, crane operations, and tasks in the oil, gas, and renewable sectors. Delivery to the customer is expected in September 2024. Island Offshore expects a turnover of 2.3 billion Norwegian kroner (USD $2.3 billion) in 2023, with a fleet utilization of approximately 93%. The company operates 21 vessels, most with contracts secured into 2024.
