Great Eastern Shipping to work with Harbor Lab on port call optimisation

Indian firm specializing in the transportation of crude oil, petroleum products, gas, and dry bulk commodities, has announced a collaboration with Athens-based Harbor Lab. This partnership aims to optimize the company’s port cost management processes through the implementation of new technologies.

The project involves integrating Harbor Lab’s tools with Great Eastern Shipping’s existing systems, including Veson voyage management software and SAP accounting system. This integration will facilitate an end-to-end port call management process, streamlining tasks from the start of the voyage to the settlement of all invoices and claims.

Ankush Gupta, COO of Great Eastern Shipping, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and delivering greater value to customers. The implementation of Harbor Lab’s Disbursement Accounts module is a critical aspect of this initiative. The platform will manage various agency activities, including appointment scheduling, document management, and approval processes, with the goal of simplifying communication and improving coordination.
