The terminal experienced 129 visits in October, which is 26 per cent more compared to October 2022 data. After the terminal completed its renovation on Berth 1, all berths were open for service, which gave rise in the containership calls.

The Port of Savannah had its fourth busiest October on record by handling a total of 449,000 twenty-foot equivalent TEUs. In addition to the rise in containerships, the rail cargo sector has also experienced a growth in the Garden City Terminal with a total of 47,750 containers moved by rail. Whereas, The Appalachian Regional Port set a new record for the month of October with a 22 per cent growth in rail cargo.

However, the overall cargo volume at The Porth of Savannah decreased 18 per cent.
