Chinese yards new building order rise in the first three quarters

In the first nine months of 2023, volume of new building orders in Chinese yards have gone up to 76.7 per cent

China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry released that China’s shipbuilding output from January to September was 30.74 millions DWT, 10.6 per cent more compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, the volume of newly received orders was 57.34 million DWT with a 76.7 per cent growth.

At the end of September, Chinese shipyards’ order book had reached to 133.93 million DWT, an increase of 30.6 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Shipbuilding export volume increased 11.8 per cent with a 26.31 million DWT, while newly received export shipbuilding orders were 53.53 million DWT, up by 82 per cent.

National shipbuilding volume increased 85.6 per cent, newly received shipbuilding orders increased 93.4 per cent, whereas orders on hand of exported vessels increased 93.3 per cent.
