British LNG company Avenir LNG announced that its CEO, Peter Mackey, is stepping down as the company’s CEO

In the statement the company released, it was said that Mackey will stay in his position until the end of the first quarter of 2024 to make sure the transition goes smooth.

While on the look for a new CEO, Avenir LNG Commercial Director, Jonathan Quinn will step in and work with the leadership team and the board to prevent any disruption in the company’s operations.

Mackey said in his statement, “I’m enormously proud of the platform we’ve created within Avenir since it was founded in late 2018. We have built the company into one of the market leaders in the small-scale LNG sector. Avenir is about to enter a new phase of growth and I think it’s the right time for a new leader to take the company forward. It has been a huge privilege to lead Avenir and I’ll be cheering on from the sidelines to see where it goes next.”

Avenir LNG had previously announced that Udo Lange CEO, Stolt-Nielsen will join its board as director to replace Jan Chr. Engelhardten, who had stepped down at the beginning of November.
