Blue II begins maiden voyage

MDN İstanbul

Turquoise Yacht’s all-new 56metre explorer yacht, Blue II has embarked on her maiden voyage in the Mediterranean.

The newly built superyacht sports a Hoek Design exterior and naval architecture reminiscent of classic steamships; but with a modern twist.

Designated ice-class 1B, she was made to explore Polar Regions and the Northwest Passage and is equipped with IMO Tier III diesel-electric propulsion. Special features on board the 785 GT vessel include generous under-deck storage for two tenders, four multifunctional decks and six staterooms including an owner’s suite, main-deck VIP and four guest rooms.

Turquoise Yacht Blue II was launched in Istanbul’s Pendik district. Vickers Studio and Dols Home, who worked with Hoek to provide the interior styling, saw to the decor of the yacht’s main saloon and dining area, sky lounge and spa area – including the sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and gym.

Blue II was built with twin Diesel Electric 800kW e-motors driven by two Caterpillar main propulsion generators and a set of Naiad stabilisers to reach a top speed of 13 knots. Overseeing the build was Master Yachts, who worked as the owner’s representatives.
