Anadolu Shipyard, which has successfully delivered 18 platforms to the Turkish Naval Command over the past nine years, TAIS — a partnership between Anadolu Shipyard, Sefine and Sedef yards, will be in the spotlight with announcements of new projects in markets abroad, according to TAIS Shipyards Vice President Süalp Ürkmez who also heads the Executive Board of Anadolu Shipyard. Speaking about the shipyard’s projects and goals to MarineDeal News, Sualp Ürkmez said: “Currently we are building two combat training ships for the Qatari Navy. According to the contract which went into force in February this year, we will be delivering both vessels within the short period of three years. Keel laying for the first blocks of these vessels, which are private sector exports, has already taken place. We are ahead of the schedule. As we build these ships we are also supporting our subsidiary industry. Particularly in foreign markets, we are moving forward together with ASELSAN. We will supply all weaponry for these two Qatari ships from ASELSAN.” He also emphasized that a number of projects were underway, whose details were not yet made public.

He continued “We are marketing all vessels and military ships that we have designed here through TAIS, which we founded two years earlier. Currently, we have 15 projects which we are following up on with a high potential of being turned into real contracts.” He said they placed great importance on exports adding that he hoped to announce news of new contracts very soon.
